Distributed digital wallet seed phrase

A non-transitory medium with instructions stored thereon that, when executed by at least one processor of an electronic device, cause the electronic device to:

• segment a seed phrase for a digital wallet into multiple portions, each of which includes one or more terms, based on a desired security level that is based on (i) a count of the multiple portions and (ii) a count of terms in each of the multiple portions;
• store a given one of the multiple portions of the seed phrase in memory;
• cause remaining ones of the multiple portions of the seed phrase to be distributed to multiple electronic devices, each of which is accessible to the electronic device via a wireless communication technology;
• and
• enable access to the digital wallet in response to the seed phrase being reconstructed based on a subset of the multiple portions being received from a subset of the multiple electronic devices.

A method for temporarily granting access to a digital wallet through reconstruction of a seed phrase from multiple portions that are distributed across multiple electronic devices, the method comprising:

• receiving, by an electronic device, the multiple portions of the seed phrase from the multiple electronic devices;
• establishing, by the electronic device, that the multiple portions of the seed phrase are sufficient to reconstruct the seed phrase, as the multiple electronic devices is representative of a subset of electronic devices to which portions of the seed phrase have been distributed;
• and
• reconstructing, by the electronic device, the seed phrase from (i) a portion of the seed phrase that is stored in memory of the electronic device and (ii) the multiple portions of the seed phrase that are received from the multiple electronic devices.
