Inter-Band Carrier Aggregation Enhancements

A user equipment device (UE), comprising:

• two or more receive chains;
• and
• at least one processor in communication with the two or more receive chains and configured to cause the UE to perform operations comprising:
• indicating, to a network node, a multi-receive chain configuration of the UE;
• determining, based on information received from the network node, that at least one of an intra-band component carrier (CC) conflict or an inter-band CC conflict is occurring on at least one receive chain of the UE;
• and
• determining a receive beam restriction to avoid at least one of the intra-band CC conflict or the inter-band CC conflict for the at least one receive chain based, at least in part, on the multi-receive chain configuration of the UE;
• and
• applying the receive beam restriction to the at least one receive chain based on the determining.

A baseband processor, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• processing circuitry in communication with the memory and configured to cause a wireless device to perform operations comprising:
• indicating, to a network node, a multi-receive chain configuration of the wireless device;
• determining, based on information received from the network node, that at least one of an intra-band component carrier (CC) conflict or an inter-band CC conflict is occurring on at least one receive chain of the wireless device;
• and
• determining a receive beam restriction to avoid at least one of the intra-band CC conflict or the inter-band CC conflict for the at least one receive chain based, at least in part, on the multi-receive chain configuration of the wireless device;
• and
• applying the receive beam restriction to the at least one receive chain based on the determining.
