The technology described herein is generally directed to a RSFQ (rapid single flux quantum) and CMOS (complementary metal oxide transistor)-based hybrid controller designed to operate at the 4K stage of a dilution refrigerator. The hybrid controller is configured to generate precise control pulses for interaction with multiple qubits by generating different local oscillator frequencies using phase locked loops driven by a common reference clock. Single flux quantum (SFQ)-based repeaters are employed at further cryogenic stages to ensure high-fidelity communication. Multiplexed qubit readout of measured quantum state information of the qubits can be via a shared microwave feedline. The measured quantum state information can be used by a cryogenic receiver for virtually immediate error correction, and or the quantum hardware can be integrated with classical systems for quantum state information feedback and error correction.
