A stator including a stator body having a plurality of circumferentially-distributed stator teeth and stator slots formed between the stator teeth and axially extending through the stator body. Electric conductors of a stator winding are arranged which emerge from the stator body at an end face at least forming a winding head. During operation, a cooling fluid is applied to the winding head, and the winding head is enclosed by a housing which seals the winding head relative to surroundings and the stator body. The housing has an annular-disc-like base and cylinder rings extending axially therefrom. At least one of the electric conductors projects from the winding head and is electrically connected to a connection having a threaded bolt which engages through the housing base and a nut or a bolt head of the threaded bolt outside the housing locks the connection with respect to the housing.
