Abstract
In some aspects, a method of positioning performed by an energy harvesting tag (eTag) includes receiving an energizing waveform including control information, wherein the control information indicates a configuration for beacon signal transmission by the eTag, wherein the configuration indicates a spatial interleaving factor, a time slot offset, and a channel; and transmitting, during a subsequent subframe, a beacon signal according to the configuration.
Claims18
An energy harvesting tag (eTag), comprising:
- one or more memories;
- one or more antennas;
- and
- one or more processors communicatively coupled to the one or more memories and the one or more antennas, the one or more processors, either alone or in combination, configured to:
- receive, via the one or more antennas, an energizing waveform including control information, wherein the control information indicates a configuration for beacon signal transmission by the eTag, wherein the configuration indicates a spatial interleaving factor, a time slot offset, and a channel;
- and
- transmit, via the one or more antennas, during a subsequent subframe, a beacon signal according to the configuration.

An energy harvesting tag (eTag), comprising:
- one or more memories;
- one or more antennas;
- and
- one or more processors communicatively coupled to the one or more memories and the one or more antennas, the one or more processors, either alone or in combination, configured to:
- receive, via the one or more antennas, an energizing waveform including control information, wherein the control information indicates a visual indication to be displayed by an electronic label display to which the eTag is communicatively coupled;
- and
- transmit, via the one or more antennas, the control information to the electronic label display.

A server, comprising:
- one or more memories;
- one or more transceivers;
- and
- one or more processors communicatively coupled to the one or more memories and the one or more transceivers, the one or more processors, either alone or in combination, configured to:
- receive, via the one or more transceivers, from a user equipment (UE), an energy harvesting tag (eTag) identifier of an eTag located in an indoor environment, a signal strength measurement of a beacon signal transmitted by the eTag, and a timestamp associated with the signal strength measurement;
- and
- update a user behavior database for the indoor environment based on the eTag identifier, the signal strength measurement, and the timestamp.
