Charge control device

A charge control device comprising:

• an AC generator;
• a rectifier configured to convert electric power generated by the AC generator from AC to DC;
• a first battery connected to the rectifier and configured to being charged by the electric power supplied from the rectifier;
• a capacitor connected in parallel with the first battery to the rectifier and configured to being charged by the electric power supplied from the rectifier;
• a DC-DC converter configured to convert voltage output from the rectifier from DC to DC and configured to apply the converted voltage to the first battery;
• a first switch configured to switch between connection and disconnection between the rectifier and the capacitor;
• and
• a control unit configured to:
• connect the rectifier and the capacitor by controlling the first switch when output voltage of the rectifier is greater than voltage of the capacitor during a power generating operation of the AC generator;
• and disconnect the rectifier and the capacitor by controlling the first switch when the rectifier and the capacitor are connected and the capacitor is discharging during a power generating operation of the AC generator.
