Abstract

A wire gripper adapted to be used to grip a wire-like body, including: a wire gripping portion that includes a first and a second members, the first member including a tapered groove, the second member being arranged to be in contact with a part of the groove, thereby forming a gripping space in a gap where the second member is not in contact with the groove; a displacement mechanism configured to displace a positional aspect between the first and second members, so that the gripping space changes in size, the positional aspect including a first and a second aspects, in the first aspect, the wire-like body being gripped by the wire gripping portion, in the second aspect, gripping of the wire-like body by the wire gripping portion being released; and a motor configured to generate rotational power for imparting power to the displacement mechanism.
