Abstract
A locking mechanism provided in a connector includes a spring portion, an extension portion, a locking portion, an operating portion, and a pressing load receiving portion. The pressing load receiving portion is provided on an inner side of the connector at the extension portion. Each of two island portions provided in a housing constituting the connector includes two pressing load portions. The pressing load receiving portion faces a corresponding one of the two pressing load portions, the pressing load receiving portion comes into contact with the corresponding one of the two pressing load portions when the operating portion is in a non-release position, and the pressing load receiving portion separates from the corresponding one of the two pressing load portions when the operating portion is in a release position.
Claims1
A connector that, by moving a mating connector in a third direction orthogonal to a virtual plane formed by a first direction and a second direction that are orthogonal to each other, is fitted with or removed from the mating connector, the connector- comprising:
- a housing, including
- a terminal holding portion, and
- two island portions, each of the two island portions having two pressing load portions facing away from each other toward an outer side of the connector in the second direction;
- a plurality of terminals held in the terminal holding portion and arranged in the first direction in the housing;
- two additional members held in the housing and located at both ends of the housing in the first direction, each of the two additional members including
- two locking mechanisms located to face each other in the second direction, each of the two locking mechanisms including
- a spring portion being a plate elastic member having an U-shape that is closed on one side of the outer side or an inner side of the connector and open on the other side of the outer side or the inner side thereof in the first direction when viewed in the third direction, an end of the U-shape on the outer side of the connector in the second direction being formed as a fixed end, an end of the U-shape on the inner side of the connector in the second direction being formed as a free end,
- an extension portion formed to be continuous with the end on the inner side of the connector in the second direction, which is formed as the free end of the spring portion having the U-shape, and to extend in the first direction, the extension portion being displaced in the second direction by an elastic force of the spring portion,
- a locking portion formed on the inner side of the connector in the second direction of the extension portion, and including a locking surface that faces one side in the third direction,
- an operating portion formed on the outer side of the connector than the locking portion in the first direction of the extension portion, and on the inner side of the connector in the second direction of the extension portion, and
- a pressing load receiving portion provided on the inner side of the connector in the second direction of the extension portion, at a position between the locking portion and the operating portion in the first direction of the extension portion, the pressing load receiving portion facing a corresponding one of the two pressing load portions in the second direction,
- wherein the operating portion moves between a non-release position, and a release position that, when a pressing operation toward the outer side of the connector in the second direction is undergone, is located closer to the outer side of the connector than the non-release position in the second direction,
- when the operating portion is in the non-release position, the pressing load receiving portion comes into contact with the corresponding one of the two pressing load portions, and receives a pressing load toward the outer side of the connector in the second direction, and
- when the operating portion is in the release position, the pressing load receiving portion separates from the corresponding one of the two pressing load portions.
