Abstract
A retrodirective device is presented for use as a road marker. The retrodirective device is comprised of a planar substrate; and a first array of antennas disposed on the substrate. The antennas in the first array of antennas are substrate integrated waveguides and are arranged symmetrically in pairs around an axis located in middle of the substrate, such that antennas in each antenna pair are connected to each other. Each antenna in the first array of antennas may be further defined as a horn antenna.

A retrodirective device for use as a road marker, comprising:
- a planar substrate;
- and
- a first array of antennas disposed on the substrate and arranged symmetrically in pairs around an axis located in middle of the substrate, wherein antennas in each pair are connected to each other and each antenna in the first array of antennas is a substrate-integrated waveguide.
A retrodirective device for use as a road marker, comprising:
- a planar substrate;
- a first array of antennas disposed on the substrate, where the antennas in the first array of antennas are substrate integrated waveguides and are arranged symmetrically in pairs around an axis located in middle of the substrate, such that antennas in each antenna pair are connected to each other;
- and
- two or more arrays of antennas stacked on top of the first array of antennas, where the antennas in the two or more arrays of antennas are substrate integrated waveguides and are arranged symmetrically in pairs around the axis, such that antennas in each antenna pair are connected to each other.
