Abstract
A radome is provided. The radome comprises a heating element positioned on a surface of the radome, the heating element consisting of a receiver coil of a receiver of a wireless power transfer system, the receiver coil formed of a resistive mesh, the resistive mesh forming a plane and having a dissipation pattern formed in the plane; and a transmitter coil of a transmitter of a wireless power transfer system, the transmitter coil for generating a magnetic field for transferring power to the receiver coil via magnetic field coupling.

A radome comprising:
- a heating element for heating a surface of the radome, the heating element consisting of a receiver coil of a receiver of a wireless power transfer system, the receiver coil formed of a resistive mesh, the resistive mesh forming a plane and having a dissipation pattern formed in the plane;
- and
- a transmitter coil of a transmitter of a wireless power transfer system, the transmitter coil for generating a magnetic field for transferring power to the receiver coil via magnetic field coupling.
A method of producing a heating element for heating a surface of a radome:
- providing a resistive mesh forming a plane;
- and
- cutting a dissipation pattern in the plane.
A surface heating system comprising:
- a heating element for heating a surface, the heating element consisting of a receiver coil of a receiver of a wireless power transfer system, the resistive mesh formed of a resistive mesh, the resistive mesh forming a plane and having a dissipation pattern formed in the plane;
- and
- a transmitter coil of a transmitter of a wireless power transfer system, the transmitter coil for generating a magnetic field for transferring power to the receiver coil via magnetic field coupling.
