Abstract

Disclosed are a pouch-type secondary battery and a pressing apparatus for forming the pouch-type secondary battery. The pouch-type secondary battery includes: an electrode assembly; and a casing including a cell accommodating portion configured to accommodate the electrode assembly, and a sealing portion extending from the cell accommodating portion. The cell accommodating portion includes a first surface covering an upper surface of the electrode assembly, a second surface covering at least a portion of one side surface of the electrode assembly, and a chamfer surface formed at an edge connecting the first surface and the second surface. The sealing portion includes a bending portion extending from the second surface of the cell accommodating portion, the bending portion being folded such that one surface thereof faces the second surface of the cell accommodating portion, and bent toward the chamfer surface.
