Abstract
A battery pack includes: a plurality of battery cells along a first direction; a housing having an opening at one side, and accommodating the plurality of battery cells; a cover coupled to the housing and covering the opening; and a fire-resistant barrier assembly below the cover, and including: a fire-resistant barrier having one end connected to the cover, and extending in the first direction; a metal weight at another end of the fire-resistant barrier; and a fixing member fixing the fire-resistant barrier in a rolled state or a folded state. The fixing member is to melt at a temperature greater than or equal to a threshold, and the fire-resistant barrier is to unfold or unroll to shield a space between the plurality of battery cells when the fixing member is melted.
Claims20
A battery pack comprising:
- a plurality of battery cells along a first direction;
- a housing having an opening at one side, and accommodating the plurality of battery cells;
- a cover coupled to the housing and covering the opening;
- and
- a fire-resistant barrier assembly below the cover, and comprising:
- a fire-resistant barrier having one end connected to the cover, and extending in the first direction;
- a metal weight at another end of the fire-resistant barrier;
- and
- a fixing member fixing the fire-resistant barrier in a rolled state or a folded state,
- wherein the fixing member is configured to melt at a temperature greater than or equal to a threshold, and
- wherein the fire-resistant barrier is configured to unfold or unroll to shield a space between the plurality of battery cells when the fixing member is melted.
