Abstract
An oxygen reduction catalyst may include a catalyst metal having oxygen reduction reaction activity: and a modified layer including a copolymer or a cation thereof. The copolymer may include a structural unit derived from melamine, a structural unit derived from formaldehyde, and a structural unit derived from an amino group-containing compound having one or two amino groups.

An oxygen reduction catalyst comprising:
- a catalyst metal having oxygen reduction reaction activity:
- and
- a modified layer comprising a copolymer or a cation thereof,
- wherein the copolymer comprises a structural unit derived from melamine, a structural unit derived from formaldehyde, and a structural unit derived from an amino group-containing compound having one or two amino groups.
