A wireless call light device for use in healthcare environments is disclosed. The device includes a communication portal configured to transmit patient-initiated requests to a receiving system, a speaker and microphone enabling two-way audio communication, and a processor and memory storing a user-programmable identifier corresponding to a patient support apparatus. An indicator light illuminates upon call initiation and remains active until reset via an authorized reset mechanism, while a latched call state suppresses repeated inputs. Patient input may be received via a physical control or via an artificial intelligence interface executed by the processor. The artificial intelligence interface interprets patient input and determines device actions, including generation of standardized assistance events. The device may include multimodal output, a hot-swappable power source, and mounting mechanisms for attachment to patient support apparatuses or IV poles. Artificial intelligence processing may be performed locally, remotely, or in a hybrid configuration.
