In a liquid crystal display device that drives a liquid crystal panel using positive and negative power supplies, a charge extraction period during which an all-on control signal is at high level is set after power-off, and a high-level voltage output to a scan line driving circuit is maintained until a middle of the period. A P-channel transistor is provided to connect a common electrode to ground. A gate terminal of the transistor is connected to ground through a resistor and is connected to an output terminal of the high-level voltage through a capacitor. A diode is connected in parallel with the resistor. The capacitor is charged using the high-level voltage through the diode before the charge extraction period. During the period, the capacitor is discharged through the resistor so that the transistor remains on from discharge start until a gate terminal voltage reaches a threshold due to the discharge.
