Abstract
A remote door locking system and method of use are provided. The system includes an input and indicator assembly configured to receive input and provide an indication of whether a door is locked or unlocked. The system also includes a door assembly having the door, a lock configured to lock the door, and an actuator configured to move the lock between an unlocked position and a locked position, while allowing normal mechanical exit. The system further includes a logic relay circuit configured to actuate the actuator to move the lock from the unlocked position to the locked position when the input is received at the input and indicator assembly.
Claims20
A remote door locking system comprising:
- an input and indicator assembly configured to receive input and provide an indication of whether a door is locked or unlocked;
- a door assembly having the door, a lock configured to lock the door, and an actuator configured to move the lock between an unlocked position and a locked position, while maintaining an emergency exit function;
- and
- a logic relay circuit configured to actuate the actuator to move the lock from the unlocked position to the locked position when the input is received at the input and indicator assembly.
A method of locking a door from a remote location, the method comprising:
- receiving input at an input and indicator assembly;
- actuating an actuator by a logic relay circuit based on the input received, wherein actuating the actuator moves a lock from an unlocked position to a locked position to lock a door;
- and
- providing an indication that the door is locked from the input and indicator assembly.
