Abstract
Embodiments herein describe a system including at least one processor, multiple network interface controllers (NICs), and a virtual remote direct memory access (RDMA) device configured to manage data workloads between processor applications and the multiple NICs when a failure event is detected in at least one NIC of the multiple NICs. The at least one processor is a graphics processing unit (GPU) and the processor applications are GPU applications. The processor applications are unaware of the failure event detected in the at least one NIC of the multiple NICs.
Claims20
A system, comprising:
- at least one processor;
- multiple network interface controllers (NICs);
- and
- a virtual remote direct memory access (RDMA) device configured to manage data workloads between processor applications and the multiple NICs when a failure event is detected in at least one NIC of the multiple NICs.
A method comprising:
- electrically connecting multiple network interface controllers (NICs) to each other within a host including at least one processor;
- and
- using a virtual remote direct memory access (RDMA) device to manage data workloads between processor applications and the multiple NICs when a failure event is detected in at least one NIC of the multiple NICs.
A method comprising:
- detecting a failure event in at least one network interface controller (NIC) of a plurality of NICs within a host including at least one processor;
- and
- rebalancing data traffic to one or more functional NICs of the plurality of NICs using a virtual remote direct memory access (RDMA) device.
