Abstract
The present invention relates to a system for the preparation of interactive Bill of Quantities (BoQ) data and/or interactive cost estimate data and a method of generation of the foregoing wherein the system is integrated into or in communication with modelling software and the resultant real-time generated BoQ data and/or cost estimate data is saved within a modelling file of the modelling software.
Claims18
A system for generating interactive Bill of Quantities (BoQ) data for use in the preparation of interactive cost estimate software, the system comprising:
- (iii) a controller;
- and
- (iv) a user interface in communication with the controller,
- wherein, on generation of item-specific description and quantity data from computer modelling file, the system is configured to read and extract the item-specific description and quantity data from the computer modelling file;
- and
- wherein the controller is further operable to
- (a) generate BoQ data in dependence upon the extracted item-specific description and quantity data;
- and
- (b) supply the BoQ data to the computer modelling file.
A method of generation of interactive Bill of Quantities (BoQ) data, the method comprising the steps of:
- a. providing a system as claimed in any preceding claim, wherein the system is integrated into or in communication with, modelling software;
- b. generating a modelling file within the modelling software or providing a modelling file to the modelling software;
- c. extracting item-specific description and quantity data from respective layers of the modelling file;
- d. generating BoQ data in dependence upon the item-specific description and quantity data;
- e. providing the BoQ data to the modelling file;
- and
- f. saving the BoQ data in the modelling file.
