Systems and methods for using adaptive stock-keeping unit data structures with parameters

A computer-implemented method comprising:

• maintaining, in memory, an adaptive stock-keeping unit (SKU) associated with a type of procedure, the adaptive SKU comprising a combination SKU having a plurality of SKUs for the type of procedure and having a plurality of parameters, wherein the adaptive SKU is represented by an adaptive SKU data structure having a schema comprising:
• (i) a procedure-key field storing a procedure identifier for the type of procedure;
• (ii) a membership field storing an ordered list of identifiers for the plurality of SKUs of the combination SKU;
• (iii) a dependency field storing quantity relationship entries that define, for at least one pair of identifiers for the plurality of SKUs, a propagation rule that maps a quantity change of a first SKU to a quantity change of a second SKU;
• and
• (iv) a rule field storing executable membership rules that define permitted membership modifications to the ordered list;
• establishing one or more connections, via one or more interfaces, to one or more systems of an entity, the one or more interfaces providing an ordering interface for the entity to request one or more units associated with the adaptive SKU;
• and
• receiving, by the one or more interfaces from the one or more systems of the entity, one or more customer parameters of the plurality of parameters for managing the adaptive SKU, and storing the one or more customer parameters in association with the adaptive SKU data structure.

A non-transitory computer readable medium including one or more instructions stored thereon and executable by a processor to:

• maintain, in memory, an adaptive stock-keeping unit (SKU) associated with a type of procedure, the adaptive SKU comprising a combination SKU having a plurality of SKUs for the type of procedure and having a plurality of parameters, wherein the adaptive SKU is represented by an adaptive SKU data structure having a schema comprising:
• (i) a procedure-key field storing a procedure identifier for the type of procedure;
• (ii) a membership field storing an ordered list of identifiers for the plurality of SKUs of the combination SKU;
• (iii) a dependency field storing quantity relationship entries that define, for at least one pair of identifiers for the plurality of SKUs, a propagation rule that maps a quantity change of a first SKU to a quantity change of a second SKU;
• and
• (iv) a rule field storing executable membership rules that define permitted membership modifications to the ordered list;
• establish one or more connections, via one or more interfaces, to one or more systems of an entity, the one or more interfaces providing an ordering interface for the entity to request one or more units associated with the adaptive SKU;
• and
• receive, by the one or more interfaces from the one or more systems of the entity, one or more customer parameters of the plurality of parameters for managing the adaptive SKU, and store the one or more customer parameters in association with the adaptive SKU data structure.
