Systems, Methods, and Graphical User Interface (GUI) for Consolidating Organizational Functions and Controlling Document Storage in a Multiuser Software Environment

A method of tracking and maintaining document version history in a multiuser software environment, the method comprising:

• generating a document upload tool to be displayed on a graphical user interface accessible by a plurality of computing devices, the document upload tool including a task selector for selecting among tasks including a first task of uploading a new document and a second task of updating an existing document, the document upload tool further including a version status indicator for indicating, in a case where the second task is selected, whether a file to be uploaded includes redlining relative to a previously uploaded version of the existing document;
• receiving a designation of the file to be uploaded;
• and
• preventing the file from being uploaded in a case where the second task is selected, the previously uploaded version of the existing document does not include redlining, and the version status indicator indicates that the file to be uploaded does not include redlining.

A system for tracking and maintaining document version history in a multiuser software environment, the system comprising:

• one or more servers configured to generate a document upload tool to be displayed on a graphical user interface accessible by a plurality of computing devices, the document upload tool including a task selector for selecting among tasks including a first task of uploading a new document and a second task of updating an existing document, the document upload tool further including a version status indicator for indicating, in a case where the second task is selected, whether a file to be uploaded includes redlining relative to a previously uploaded version of the existing document;
• and
• a first computing device configured to access the graphical user interface and designate the file to be uploaded;
• wherein the one or more servers prevents the file from being uploaded in a case where the second task is selected, the previously uploaded version of the existing document does not include redlining, and the version status indicator indicates that the file to be uploaded does not include redlining.
