A computational and experimental framework is disclosed for designing and analyzing high-performance axial turbines. A predictive CFD tool is developed using corrected momentum equations in a rotating fluid domain, implemented through customized programming and solver modification. The corrected formulation enables accurate simulation of fluid dynamics, pressure fields, and torque generation in rotating turbine systems. Verification of the integrated CFD tool is performed through extensive testing on multiple turbine prototypes, demonstrating close agreement between simulated and measured rotational behavior. Using this validated methodology, an enhanced-power axial turbine is designed for power absorption from zero-flow condition. Generalized analytical formulas are also developed and validated to investigate various scales of enhanced-power axial turbine with different bearing friction for evaluating power extraction from different fluids under zero and non-zero flow conditions. The approach provides a systematic basis for developing next-generation high-efficiency turbines and advanced flow-interaction devices.
