Method for optimizing robustness of a system twin that includes a behavior model describing an undisrupted behavior of the system and an expected behavior of the system under influence of at least one predefined disruption, is executed at least twice to obtain simulation data, the overall model is used in an undisrupted state when initially executed and a disruption of the system is also simulated when the overall model is executed for the second time to simulate behavior of the overall system under influence of the disruption acting on the system, simulation data are analyzed to determine an expected effect of the disruption on the overall system from a comparison of data determined when the overall model is initially executed with data determined when the overall model is executed a second time, and at least one action is determined based on the expected effect and communicated to a user.
