Systems And Methods For Monitoring Database Queries In A Distributed Computing Environment

A computer-implemented system for monitoring database queries in a distributed computing environment, comprising:

• an application agent implemented by computer executable instructions and instrumented in an application residing on a host computing device, where the application is executing a computer transaction within the computing environment, and wherein the application agent is configured to receive a query for a database system from the application and modify the query by adding metadata to the query, where the metadata includes an identifier for the query;
• and
• a monitor server located remotely across a network from the host computing device;
• wherein the application agent is further configured to send the modified query to the database system and send monitoring data for the application to a monitor server, where the monitoring data includes the metadata;
• and
• wherein the monitor server is configured to retrieve diagnostic data from the database system and correlate the diagnostic data with the monitoring data using the metadata, where the diagnostic data is generated in response to execution of the query by the database system.
