Abstract
Systems and methods described herein relate to identifying and cleaning up data objects in database systems. A system accesses one or more databases to retrieve metadata for a plurality of data objects. For each data object, the system processes the metadata to detect that production usage satisfies at least one first condition and that modification history satisfies at least one second condition. After detecting that these conditions are satisfied, the system computes a risk classification for the data object from among a plurality of supported risk classifications. The system then automatically triggers a deletion process for the plurality of data objects based on the risk classification.
Claims22
A system comprising:
- at least one memory that stores instructions;
- and
- one or more processors configured by the instructions to perform operations comprising:
- accessing one or more databases to retrieve metadata for a plurality of data objects;
- for each data object of the plurality of data objects:
- processing the metadata to detect that production usage of the data object satisfies at least one first condition and that modification history of the data object satisfies at least one second condition, the at least one first condition comprising that usage of the data object in a production environment is at or below a predetermined threshold, and the at least one second condition comprising that the data object has not been modified within a predetermined time period, and
- based on detecting that the at least one first condition and the at least one second condition are satisfied, computing a risk classification for the data object, the risk classification being one of a plurality of supported risk classifications;
- and
- automatically triggering a deletion process for the plurality of data objects based on the risk classification.

A computer-implemented method performed by a computer system comprising a memory and at least one hardware processor, the computer-implemented method comprising:
- accessing one or more databases to retrieve metadata for a plurality of data objects;
- for each data object of the plurality of data objects:
- processing the metadata to detect that production usage of the data object satisfies at least one first condition and that modification history of the data object satisfies at least one second condition, the at least one first condition comprising that usage of the data object in a production environment is at or below a predetermined threshold, and the at least one second condition comprising that the data object has not been modified within a predetermined time period, and
- based on detecting that the at least one first condition and the at least one second condition are satisfied, computing a risk classification for the data object, the risk classification being one of a plurality of supported risk classifications;
- and
- automatically triggering a deletion process for the plurality of data objects based on the risk classification.
(canceled)
One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed by a computing system, cause the computing system to perform operations comprising:
- accessing one or more databases to retrieve metadata for a plurality of data objects;
- for each data object of the plurality of data objects:
- processing the metadata to detect that production usage of the data object satisfies at least one first condition and that modification history of the data object satisfies at least one second condition, the at least one first condition comprising that usage of the data object in a production environment is at or below a predetermined threshold, and the at least one second condition comprising that the data object has not been modified within a predetermined time period, and
- based on detecting that the at least one first condition and the at least one second condition are satisfied, computing a risk classification for the data object, the risk classification being one of a plurality of supported risk classifications;
- and
- automatically triggering a deletion process for the plurality of data objects based on the risk classification.
