Storage-side page tables for memory systems

A memory system, comprising:

• a memory controller configured to:
• obtain a target virtual address of target data stored in the memory system, wherein the memory system is coupled to a host device having a page directory and includes a storage-side dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) and one or more memory channels;
• identify, in the page directory of the host device, a target directory entry indicating that a page table mapping the target virtual address and a target physical address is located in the memory system;
• and
• in response to identifying the target directory entry in the page directory of the host device, determine the target physical address mapped to the target virtual address of the target data based on the page table of the storage-side DRAM;
• a storage-side DRAM coupled to the memory controller and including a page table, wherein the page table includes mappings between a plurality of virtual addresses and a plurality of physical addresses;
• and
• one or more memory channels coupled to the memory controller, wherein the storage-side DRAM and the one or more memory channels are configured to provide the target data according to the target physical address.

An electronic system, comprising:

• a host device including one or more processors;
• and
• a memory system configured to:
• obtain a target virtual address of target data stored in the memory system, wherein the memory system is coupled to a host device having a page directory and includes a storage-side dynamic random-access memory (DRAM) and one or more memory channels;
• identify, in the page directory of the host device, a target directory entry indicating that a page table mapping the target virtual address and a target physical address is located in the memory system;
• in response to identify the target directory entry in the page directory of the host device, determining the target physical address mapped to the target virtual address of the target data based on the page table of the storage-side DRAM;
• and
• extract the target data stored in one of the storage-side DRAM and the one or more memory channels according to the target physical address.
