Abstract
A computer-implemented method, media, and systems for setting a deallocate value for a flag within a data storage device may include: receiving, by the data storage device, a command from a host; dividing, based on the command, a range of logical block addresses corresponding to the data storage device into cache-aligned sub-ranges; determining that the sub-ranges include a full cache line; and setting, based on the command and the determination that the sub-ranges include the full cache line, the deallocate value for the flag in the full cache line.

A computer-implemented method for setting a deallocate value for a flag within a data storage device, the method comprising:
- receiving, by the data storage device, a command from a host;
- dividing, based on the command, a range of logical block addresses corresponding to the data storage device into cache-aligned sub-ranges;
- determining that the sub-ranges include a full cache line;
- and
- setting, based on the command and the determination that the sub-ranges include the full cache line, the deallocate value for the flag in the full cache line.
A computer-implemented method for performing an operation on data stored in a cache line of a data storage device, the method comprising:
- receiving, by the data storage device, a command from a host;
- setting, based on the command, a value for a flag within the cache line;
- and
- performing, based on the value for the flag, the operation.
A data storage device including a memory element, computer-readable instructions, and at least one processor, the memory element storing a logical-to-physical (L2P) table comprising a plurality of cache lines, and the computer-readable instructions, when executed by the at least one processor, causing the at least one processor to manage data contained in the plurality of cache lines by setting values for deallocation flags corresponding to the plurality of cache lines, the setting of the values being responsive to corresponding deallocation commands from a host communicatively coupled to the data storage device.
