A Key-Value storage method may include storing Value data in a storage device at a first addressing granularity. Each Value data corresponds to a Key and may be stored along with a respective header in addressing units within the storage device without regard to addressing unit boundaries. Offset values may be stored within the addressing units, each determining a header offset from an addressing boundary to a first header. Full mapping metadata that associates a Key to a location and to a size of each Value data stored in the storage device may be maintained in storage. The location may be specified at a second addressing granularity that uses fewer bits than the first addressing granularity. A portion of the full mapping metadata may be paged in from the storage device into a memory. The location, the size, and an extra bit corresponding to the user key may then be read from memory and one or more addressing units in the storage device corresponding to the location may be scanned based on the header offset to find the first header and a first Value data and subsequent headers and subsequent Value data if present.
