Systems and methods are disclosed for validating behavioral phase-of-execution determinations using correlation-based testing. A behavioral sensor derives behavior indicators from processor-level execution events, and a phase inference engine correlates the indicators with stored phase profiles to produce an inferred or predicted phase-of-execution together with an associated confidence value. A correlation validator evaluates the uncertainty of the inference and selectively applies validation tests that include non-intrusive consistency checks, active state-changing tests, or controlled experiments that introduce structured stimuli. Results of the applied tests are analyzed to increase or decrease the confidence value or to refine or discard candidate phases. Testing may be initiated or continued based on expected confidence improvement relative to associated cost, and may proceed iteratively while confidence remains within threshold ranges. These techniques reduce uncertainty in behavioral determinations and enable more reliable identification or prediction of phases-of-execution during program execution.
