Generative artificial intelligence automated testing framework for user interfaces

A non-transitory computer readable medium (CRM) comprising computer readable program code, which when executed by a computer processor, enables the computer to perform a method for generating end-to-end (E2E) tests for a user interface (UI) of a web application, the method comprising:

• receiving, from a code repository, data test IDs associated with UI elements of the UI and source code;
• rendering the UI using the source code;
• collecting all actionable UI elements associated with the data test IDs from the rendered UI;
• generating page objects using the collected actionable UI elements;
• receiving a data test plan, wherein the data test plan comprises a natural language input;
• and
• generating the E2E tests based on page objects and the data test plan, wherein the E2E tests are executable by a testing framework.

A system for generating end-to-end (E2E) tests for a user interface (UI) of a web application, the system comprising:

• persistent storage;
• and
• a computing device, comprising a processor and memory, programmed to:
• receive, from a code repository, data test IDs associated with UI elements of the UI and source code;
• render the UI using the source code;
• collect all actionable UI elements associated with the data test IDs from the rendered UI;
• generate page objects using the collected actionable UI elements;
• receive a data test plan, wherein the data test plan comprises a natural language input;
• and
• generate the E2E tests based on page objects and the data test plan, wherein the E2E tests are executable by a testing framework.
