Abstract
A write operation initiated by a memory sub-system controller of a memory sub-system to write system metadata to one or more of a plurality of dies of the a memory sub-system is identified by a processing device. A redundancy die of a plurality of dies of the memory sub-system is identified. One or more first physical blocks of the redundancy die is identified. A first write operation to write the system metadata to the one or more first physical blocks is performed.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- identifying, by a processing device, a plurality of physical blocks of a redundancy die of a plurality of dies of a memory sub-system, the plurality of physical blocks comprising a first grouping of physical blocks and a second grouping of physical blocks for storing log data, wherein the plurality of physical blocks are designated for storage of non-host data;
- and
- for each write operation of a plurality of write operations performed on the memory sub-system, writing log data to the first grouping of physical blocks and the second grouping of physical blocks in an alternating manner, wherein the log data comprises system metadata generated during execution of a corresponding write operation of the memory sub-system
A system comprising:
- one or more memory devices;
- and
- a processing device, coupled to the one or more memory devices, to perform operations comprising:
- identifying, by the processing device, a plurality of physical blocks of a redundancy die of a plurality of dies of a memory sub-system, the plurality of physical blocks comprising a first grouping of physical blocks and a second grouping of physical blocks for storing log data, wherein the plurality of physical blocks are designated for storage of non-host data;
- and
- for each write operation of a plurality of write operations performed on the memory sub-system, writing log data to the first grouping of physical blocks and the second grouping of physical blocks in an alternating manner, wherein the log data comprises system metadata generated during execution of a corresponding write operation of the memory sub-system
A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium comprising instructions that, when executed by a processing device, cause the processing device to perform operations comprising:
- identifying, by the processing device, a plurality of physical blocks of a redundancy die of a plurality of dies of a memory sub-system, the plurality of physical blocks comprising a first grouping of physical blocks and a second grouping of physical blocks for storing log data, wherein the plurality of physical blocks are designated for storage of non-host data;
- and
- for each write operation of a plurality of write operations performed on the memory sub-system, writing log data to the first grouping of physical blocks and the second grouping of physical blocks in an alternating manner, wherein the log data comprises system metadata generated during execution of a corresponding write operation of the memory sub-system
