Abstract
Barcode scanner comprising at least one reading head unit and means for attaching the at least one reading head unit to a user's hand and/or arm, as well as a control unit and an acceleration sensor that measures the accelerations occurring during movement of the hand (whether the hand alone or the hand with the arm), wherein the barcode scanner is configured to activate the reading head unit for scanning as soon as the scanner detects an acceleration that exceeds a first threshold acceleration, and a subsequent first resting phase during which the hand is essentially still.

A barcode scanner comprising:
- a barcode scanning head;
- a support attached to the barcode scanning head;
- an acceleration sensor configured to measure acceleration of a hand of a user, wherein the support is further attached to the hand and/or to an arm of the user;
- and
- a processor configured to activate the barcode scanning head and initiate scanning using the barcode scanning head in response to detection, using the acceleration sensor, of:
- an acceleration that exceeds a first threshold acceleration;
- and
- a first resting phase during which the hand is essentially still.
A barcode scanner comprising:
- a barcode scanning head;
- a support attached to the barcode scanning head;
- a sensor configured to measure acceleration and/or rotation of a hand of a user, wherein the support is further attached to the hand and/or to an arm of the user;
- and
- a processor configured to initiate scanning using the barcode scanning head in response to detecting, using the sensor:
- first movement of the hand indicating swinging of the barcode scanning head into a first position to scan a first barcode;
- and
- holding of the hand in the first position to scan the first barcode.
