Window, method of manufacturing window, and electronic device including window

A method of manufacturing a window in which a folding area, a first non-folding area adjacent to one side of the folding area, and a second non-folding area adjacent to an opposing side of the folding area are defined, the method comprising:

• forming a first photoresist in an edge area of a substrate overlapping a portion of each of the first non-folding area and the second non-folding area;
• forming an edge part of the substrate by etching the substrate and removing the first photoresist;
• forming a second photoresist on the edge part of the substrate and a flat part of the substrate which is adjacent to the edge part and overlaps a remainder of the first non-folding area and the second non-folding area except for the edge area;
• forming a groove in a folding part of the substrate overlapping the folding area by etching the substrate and removing the second photoresist;
• and
• forming a coating layer on the substrate to cover the substrate.

An electronic device comprising:

• a window in which a folding area, a first non-folding area adjacent to one side of the folding area, and a second non-folding area adjacent to an opposing side of the folding area are defined;
• a display module disposed under the window;
• and
• a processor which drives the display module,
• wherein the window includes:
• a substrate;
• and
• a coating layer disposed on the substrate,
• wherein the substrate includes:
• a folding part overlapping the folding area and having a first thickness, wherein a groove is defined in the folding part;
• a plurality of flat parts spaced apart from each other in a first direction with the folding part interposed therebetween and each having a second thickness;
• and
• a plurality of edge parts spaced apart from each other in the first direction with the folding part and the flat parts interposed therebetween and each having a third thickness, and
• wherein the third thickness is greater than the second thickness, and the second thickness is greater than the first thickness.
