A method performed by a controller for FA (Factory Automation), wherein

• the controller includes a communication interface configured to connect a network to which an information processing apparatus belongs,
• the method comprising:
• determining whether a session start request transmitted from the information processing apparatus indicates a predetermined security level or a lower security level than the predetermined security level;
• determining, when it is determined that the session start request indicates the lower security level in the determining whether the session start request transmitted from the information processing apparatus indicates the predetermined security level or the lower security level than the predetermined security level, whether or not the session start request satisfies a predetermined condition for indicating validity of the request;
• and
• setting a security level on a session established in response to the session start request, wherein
• the setting includes
• setting the predetermined security level on the session when it is determined that the session start request indicates the predetermined security level in the determining whether the session start request transmitted from the information processing apparatus indicates the predetermined security level or the lower security level than the predetermined security level, and
• setting the lower security level on the session when it is determined that the session start request indicates the lower security level in the determining whether the session start request transmitted from the information processing apparatus indicates the predetermined security level or the lower security level than the predetermined security level and it is determined that the predetermined condition is satisfied in the determining whether or not the session start request satisfies the predetermined condition for indicating the validity of the request.

A storage medium storing, in a non-transient manner, a program for causing a processor of a controller for FA (Factory Automation) to perform a method, wherein

• the controller includes a communication interface configured to connect a network to which an information processing apparatus belongs,
• the method comprising:
• determining whether a session start request transmitted from the information processing apparatus indicates a predetermined security level or a lower security level than the predetermined security level;
• determining, when it is determined that the session start request indicates the lower security level in the determining whether the session start request transmitted from the information processing apparatus indicates the predetermined security level or the lower security level than the predetermined security level, whether or not the session start request satisfies a predetermined condition for indicating validity of the request;
• and
• setting a security level on a session established in response to the session start request, wherein
• the setting includes
• setting the predetermined security level on the session when it is determined that the session start request indicates the predetermined security level in the determining whether the session start request transmitted from the information processing apparatus indicates the predetermined security level or the lower security level than the predetermined security level, and
• setting the lower security level on the session when it is determined that the session start request indicates the lower security level in the determining whether the session start request transmitted from the information processing apparatus indicates the predetermined security level or the lower security level than the predetermined security level and it is determined that the predetermined condition is satisfied in determining whether or not the session start request satisfies the predetermined condition for indicating the validity of the request.
