Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a computer system may analyze a 3D digital design model of a workpiece to identify geometry for cutting and areas for a surface finish. The system may classify the workpiece into multiple segments for metal cutting, electrochemical machining, or both based on the analysis and historical information of cutting and machining segments of workpieces. The system may determine a sequence of operations between the metal cutting and the electrochemical machining for the multiple segments. The system may determine parameters for the metal cutting and the electrochemical machining to maintain an optimal material thickness for each segment. The system may output instructions for performing the metal cutting and the electrochemical machining on the multiple segments based on the classification of the multiple segments, the sequence of operations, and the parameters.
