Computer-implemented method for training at least one model for controlling asset allocation in a distributed energy system

A computer-implemented method for training at least one model for controlling asset allocation in a distributed energy system, the method comprising:

• obtaining historical data about the distributed energy system;
• training a data simulator to generate future data for future distributed energy system conditions using the historical data;
• generating a plurality of new data for new distributed energy system conditions using the trained data simulator;
• and
• training at least one model for controlling asset allocation in the distributed energy system in the new distributed energy system conditions using the plurality of new data;
• wherein the training the at least one model for controlling asset allocation in the distributed energy system in the new distributed energy system conditions using the plurality of new data comprises:
• obtaining at least one seed model from a database based at least on the new distributed energy system conditions;
• and
• using the at least one seed model as a starting point for training the at least one model for controlling asset allocation in the distributed energy system in the new distributed energy system conditions;
• wherein each seed model of the at least one seed model comprises energy and/or power characteristics of at least one asset of the at least one asset allocation plan.
