Industrial System

A computing device comprising:

• one or more processors;
• and
• memory storing instruction which, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the computing device to:
• obtain reference data indicative of one or more states of the industrial system, wherein reference data is associated with data collected from one or more sensors of the industrial system;
• determine whether a deviation greater than a predetermined threshold is present within a comparison of the reference data to expected values of the reference data, wherein the predetermined threshold is associated with a process of the industrial system;
• in the event that a deviation greater than the predetermined threshold is present, assess an effect of the deviation on one or more outputs of the industrial system based on a difference between a performance of the industrial system with the deviation present at a first time point and a projected performance of the industrial system at the first time point without the deviation present;
• select one or more mitigating control actions from a plurality of predetermined control actions, wherein each predetermined control actions represents a predetermined operation to change one or more processes of the industrial system, and wherein selecting comprises:
• identifying an issue, from a plurality of predetermined issues, as causing the deviation based on the assessed effect of the deviation;
• and
• identifying one or more control actions from the plurality of predetermined control actions based on the identified issue causing the deviation, wherein the one or more identified control actions are selected to reduce the effect of the deviation of the one or more outputs of the industrial system;
• calculate an impact of performing each mitigating control action on the one or more outputs of the industrial system;
• and
• output a representation of the impact of performing one or more mitigating control actions to a user interface, and enabling a user of the user interface to select an operation to initiate at least one of the one or more mitigating control actions to change one or more processes of the industrial system.

One or more non-transitory computer-readable media storing instructions which, when executed by one or more processors, cause a computing device to perform steps comprising:

• obtaining reference data indicative of one or more states of the industrial system, wherein reference data is associated with data collected from one or more sensors of the industrial system;
• determining whether a deviation greater than a predetermined threshold is present within a comparison of the reference data to expected values of the reference data, wherein the predetermined threshold is associated with a process of the industrial system;
• in the event that a deviation greater than the predetermined threshold is present, assessing an effect of the deviation on one or more outputs of the industrial system based on a difference between a performance of the industrial system with the deviation present at a first time point and a projected performance of the industrial system at the first time point without the deviation present;
• selecting one or more mitigating control actions from a plurality of predetermined control actions, wherein each predetermined control actions represents a predetermined operation to change one or more processes of the industrial system, and wherein selecting comprises:
• identifying an issue, from a plurality of predetermined issues, as causing the deviation based on the assessed effect of the deviation;
• and
• identifying one or more control actions from the plurality of predetermined control actions based on the identified issue causing the deviation, wherein the one or more identified control actions are selected to reduce the effect of the deviation of the one or more outputs of the industrial system;
• calculating an impact of performing each mitigating control action on the one or more outputs of the industrial system;
• and
• outputting a representation of the impact of performing one or more mitigating control actions to a user interface, and enabling a user of the user interface to select an operation to initiate at least one of the one or more mitigating control actions to change one or more processes of the industrial system.
