Abstract
A backlight unit for a display device includes: a plurality of light sources arranged in a matrix pattern on at least one substrate, each of the light sources including a red light emitting diode (LED), a green LED, and a blue LED; a frame accommodating the substrate, the frame including a receiving portion at which the substrate is disposed, and a side portion extending obliquely from edges of the receiving portion; a reflective sheet covering the substrate, the reflective sheet including a central portion that covers the substrate and a chamfer portion that covers the side portion; and a phosphor on the chamfer portion.

A backlight unit for a display device comprising:
- a plurality of light sources arranged in a matrix pattern on at least one substrate, wherein each of the light sources comprises a red light emitting diode (LED), a green LED, and a blue LED;
- a frame accommodating the substrate and comprising a receiving portion at which the substrate is disposed and side portions extending obliquely from edges of the receiving portion;
- a reflective sheet covering the substrate and comprising a central portion that covers the substrate and chamfer portions that cover the side portions;
- and
- a phosphor provided on the chamfer portions.
A backlight unit for a display device comprising:
- a plurality of light sources arranged in a matrix pattern on a substrate, wherein each of the light sources comprises a red light emitting diode (LED), a green LED, and a blue LED;
- a frame accommodating the substrate and comprising a receiving portion at which the substrate is disposed and side portions extending obliquely from edges of the receiving portion;
- and
- a reflective sheet including a central portion that covers the substrate and chamfer portions that cover the side portions,
- wherein the plurality of light sources comprises:
- first outer light sources arranged in a first row of the matrix pattern;
- and
- second outer light sources arranged in a last row of the matrix pattern,
- wherein the red, green, and blue LEDs of at least some of the first and second outer light sources are sequentially arranged in a row direction of the matrix pattern regardless of order.
A backlight unit for a display device comprising:
- a plurality of light sources arranged in a matrix pattern on at least one substrate;
- a frame accommodating the substrate and comprising a receiving portion at which the substrate is disposed and side portions extending obliquely from edges of the receiving portion;
- a reflective sheet covering the substrate and comprising a central portion that covers the substrate and chamfer portions that cover the side portions;
- and
- a phosphor on the chamfer portions,
- wherein the plurality of light sources comprises:
- outer light sources arranged in a first row, a last row, a first column, and a last column of the matrix pattern;
- and
- inner light sources surrounded by the outer light sources and each including a red light emitting diode (LED), a green LED, and a blue LED,
- wherein at least some of the outer light sources are composed of one of red, green, and blue LEDs.
