Unevenly spaced time-domain resource assignment of a sensing signal for object speed

A wireless communication device for wireless communications, comprising:

• one or more memories;
• and
• one or more processors coupled with the one or more memories and configured to cause the wireless communication device to:
• transmit control signaling indicating a set of unevenly spaced time domain occasions within a time duration to monitor for a sensing signal associated with estimating a speed of an object, wherein a first time gap between a first pair of consecutive time domain occasions of the set of unevenly spaced time domain occasions is different than a second time gap between a second pair of consecutive time domain occasions of the set of unevenly spaced time domain occasions;
• transmit, within the time duration, a sensing signal via the set of unevenly spaced time domain occasions;
• and
• receive a report indicating a Doppler frequency, an estimated speed of the object corresponding to the Doppler frequency, or both, based at least in part on transmitting the sensing signal.

A method for wireless communications by a user equipment (UE), comprising:

• receiving control signaling indicating a set of unevenly spaced time domain occasions within a time duration to monitor for a sensing signal associated with estimating a speed of an object, wherein a first time gap between a first pair of consecutive time domain occasions of the set of unevenly spaced time domain occasions is different than a second time gap between a second pair of consecutive time domain occasions of the set of unevenly spaced time domain occasions;
• monitoring, within the time duration, for a first reflected sensing signal during the set of unevenly spaced time domain occasions;
• and
• transmitting a report indicating a Doppler frequency, an estimated speed of the object corresponding to the Doppler frequency, or both, based at least in part on monitoring for the first reflected sensing signal.
