Reporting positioning measurements

A network unit for wireless communication, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• a processor coupled with the memory and configured to cause the network unit to:
• transmit positioning measurement configuration information comprising:
• a list of candidate beams, wherein each candidate beam of the list of candidate beams is associated with a positioning reference signal (PRS);
• a priority indicator;
• and
• reporting criteria for positioning comprising a non-line-of-sight (NLOS) measurement indicator, a line-of-sight (LOS) measurement indicator, and a reporting priority for each candidate beam of the list of candidate beams;
• and
• receive a report of positioning measurements based on the reporting criteria for at least one candidate beam of the list of candidate beams, wherein the positioning measurements are based on PRSs associated with at least one candidate beam of the list of candidate beams based on an associated PRS configuration.

A method performed by a network unit, the method comprising:

• transmitting positioning measurement configuration information comprising:
• a list of candidate beams, wherein each candidate beam of the list of candidate beams is associated with a positioning reference signal (PRS);
• a priority indicator;
• a non-line-of-sight (NLOS) measurement indicator;
• a line-of-sight (LOS) measurement indicator;
• and
• a reporting priority for each candidate beam of the list of candidate beams;
• transmitting one or more LOS reporting criteria, or one or more NLOS reporting criteria, or both;
• and
• receiving a report of a PRS measurement of at least one beam of the list of candidate beams, wherein the reported PRS measurement is based on the LOS reporting criteria or the NLOS reporting criteria, wherein the PRS measurement of the at least one beam of the list of candidate beams is based on the positioning measurement configuration information, and wherein the report further indicates whether the PRS measurement is classified as non LOS or LOS by a user equipment (UE).

A network unit for wireless communication, comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• a processor coupled with the memory and configured to cause the network unit to:
• transmit positioning measurement configuration information comprising:
• a list of candidate beams, wherein each candidate beam of the list of candidate beams is associated with a positioning reference signal (PRS);
• a priority indicator;
• a non-line-of-sight (NLOS) measurement indicator;
• a line-of-sight (LOS) measurement indicator;
• and
• a reporting priority for each candidate beam of the list of candidate beams;
• transmit one or more LOS reporting criteria, or one or more NLOS reporting criteria, or both;
• and
• receive a report of a PRS measurement of at least one beam of the list of candidate beams, wherein the reported PRS measurement is based on the LOS reporting criteria or the NLOS reporting criteria, wherein the PRS measurement of the at least one beam of the list of candidate beams is based on the positioning measurement configuration information, and wherein the report further indicates whether the PRS measurement is classified as non LOS or LOS by a user equipment (UE).
