Abstract
Systems, methods, and other embodiments described herein relate to testing a used battery by measuring signals until satisfying a connection parameter for estimating a safety state. In one embodiment, a method includes measuring s-parameters for ports of a used battery at elevated frequencies using a testing device. The method also includes, upon satisfying a connection parameter associated with the ports, removing interference sources by computing first derivatives of real-parts from impedance using the s-parameters. The method also includes estimating a safety state for the used battery from changes of the first derivatives over a frequency band.

A testing system comprising:
- a memory storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to:
- measure s-parameters for ports of a used battery at elevated frequencies using a testing device;
- upon satisfaction of a connection parameter associated with the ports, remove interference sources by computing first derivatives of real-parts from impedance using the s-parameters;
- and
- estimate a safety state for the used battery from changes of the first derivatives over a frequency band.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising:
- instructions that when executed by a processor cause the processor to:
- measure s-parameters for ports of a used battery at elevated frequencies using a testing device;
- upon satisfaction of a connection parameter associated with the ports, remove interference sources by computing first derivatives of real-parts from impedance using the s-parameters;
- and
- estimate a safety state for the used battery from changes of the first derivatives over a frequency band.
A method comprising:

- upon satisfying a connection parameter associated with the ports, removing interference sources by computing first derivatives of real-parts from impedance using the s-parameters;
- and
- estimating a safety state for the used battery from changes of the first derivatives over a frequency band.
