An automatic analysis apparatus of an embodiment includes a reagent storage, an automatic reagent loading mechanism, a dispensing mechanism, and processing circuitry. The reagent storage stores a plurality of reagent bottles. The automatic reagent loading mechanism transports the reagent bottles from a reagent loading section to the reagent storage. The dispensing mechanism dispenses reagents contained in the reagent bottles stored in the reagent storage. The processing circuitry causes the dispensing mechanism to wait for dispensing until a standby time elapses from a reference time corresponding to when the reagent bottles are transported to the reagent storage and installed in the reagent storage by the automatic reagent loading mechanism.
