Methods and compositions for diagnosing brain injury, neurodegeneration; or a predisposition thereto, in a subject are provided. Particularly, the present invention relates to specific antigen antibody reactivities useful in diagnosing brain injury, neurodegeneration or a predisposition thereto, in a subject.

An article of manufacture to diagnose brain injury or neurodegeneration, the article of manufacture comprising:
- a probe set to detect in a biological sample protein biomarker Synuclein beta (Sncb), isoforms thereof, post-translationally modified forms thereof, fragments thereof, or any combination thereof, and at least one of protein biomarkers Metallothionein-3 (MT3) and Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP), isoforms thereof, post-translationally modified forms thereof, fragments thereof, or any combination thereof.
An article of manufacture to detect or diagnose brain injury or neurodegeneration, the article of manufacture comprising a detecting assay which detects in a biological sample the protein biomarker Synuclein beta (Sncb), isoforms thereof, post-translationally modified forms thereof, fragments thereof, or any combination thereof, and at least one of protein biomarker Metallothionein-3 (MT3) and Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP), isoforms thereof, post-translationally modified forms thereof, fragments thereof, or any combination thereof.
