Abstract
A multispectral sensor system is disclosed that provides an ambient light sensor that compensates for potential tilt or misorientation. A dedicated optical chief ray angle detector unit is provided comprising an optical sensor arranged in a chamber with an aperture in a housing, wherein the optical sensor comprises a number of chief ray angle detector pixels having the same spectral sensitivity, each generating an irradiance sensor signal, and wherein the irradiance sensor signals generated by the chief ray angle detector pixels are provided for generation of a parameter characteristic for the chief ray angle of the irradiance of the detector unit.

An optical chief ray angle detector unit comprising an optical sensor arranged in an optical chamber with an aperture in a housing, wherein the optical sensor comprises a number of chief ray angle detector pixels having the same spectral sensitivity, each generating an irradiance sensor signal, and wherein the irradiance sensor signals generated by the chief ray angle detector pixels are provided for generation of a parameter characteristic for the chief ray angle of the irradiance of the detector unit.
A method for light sensing, comprising the steps of:
- detecting received photons by means of an optical sensor arranged in a chamber of a housing through an aperture of said chamber,
- wherein the optical sensor comprises a number of chief ray angle detector pixels having the same spectral sensitivity,
- for each CRA detector pixel, generating an irradiance sensor signal, and
- calculating a parameter characteristic for the chief ray angle of the irradiance of the detector unit type.
