Abstract
A detonator protector, which includes an elongated body defining a retaining formation for retaining a detonator in position in the detonator protector, such that the detonator is spaced from walls of a blast hole, when inserted into the hole, and an extraction formation arranged on a rear end of the elongated body, arranged to be engaged by a matched extraction tool, used to extract the elongated body once inserted within the blast hole.
Claims18
A detonator protector, which includes
- an elongated body defining a retaining formation for retaining a detonator in position in the detonator protector, such that the detonator is spaced from walls of a blast hole, when inserted into the hole, the elongated body being in the form of a moulded frame defining an outer frame and a detector receptacle within the outer frame, and in which the retaining formations is in the form of a plurality of clips extending across two opposing members of the outer frame, the clips being shaped and dimensioned to receive the detonator with little tolerance between the diameter of the detonator and the clips.
