Abstract

A system may include a launching mechanism, at least one magnetic field source disposed proximate to the launching mechanism and configured to generate a magnetic field, a mechanism configured to control the magnetic field, and a projectile. The projectile may include a payload, a conductive element, and a control circuit. The conductive element may be configured to move, in response to being launched by the launching mechanism, through the magnetic field to induce electrical energy via a change in a magnetic flux. The electrical energy may be indicative of a deployment parameter associated with release of the payload during travel of the projectile. The control circuit may be configured to determine the deployment parameter based on the electrical energy and to release the payload based on the deployment parameter.
