Abstract
A refrigerator includes an ice-making body having a circumferential portion configured to receive water, and a motor for driving the ice-making body. The ice-making body is connected to the motor and configured rotate by driving force of the motor. The refrigerator further includes a power transmission configured to transmit the driving force of the motor to the ice-making body.
Claims20
A refrigerator comprising:
- a cabinet that defines a storage space;
- a door configured to open and close at least a portion of the storage space;
- an ice-making body rotatably provided at the door, the ice-making body comprising a circumferential portion configured to receive water and to generate ice;
- a cylinder that defines a space configured to receive the ice separated from the circumferential portion;
- a motor configured to provide driving force to the ice-making body;
- a gear assembly configured to transmit the driving force of the motor to the ice-making body;
- and
- a piston configured to move linearly relative to the cylinder based on operation of the gear assembly and to move the ice separated from the circumferential portion to the cylinder.

A refrigerator comprising:
- a cabinet that defines a storage space;
- a door configured to open and close at least a portion of the storage space;
- an ice-making body rotatably provided at the cabinet or the door and configured to receive water and to generate ice;
- a blade disposed adjacent to the ice-making body and configured to separate the ice from the ice-making body;
- a cylinder that extends in direction tangential to an outer circumferential surface of the ice-making body, the cylinder being configured to receive the ice separated by the blade;
- a piston disposed at a side of the cylinder and configured to move toward the cylinder and away from the cylinder;
- a motor configured to generate driving force for rotation of the ice-making body;
- and
- a gear assembly configured to transmit the driving force of the motor to the piston.
