Abstract

A refrigeration appliance contains a linear compressor which is configured as a drive for a refrigeration circuit and which can be controlled by a control system in such a way that it can be operated either at a first operating frequency at the resonance frequency of the linear compressor or can be operated at a second operating frequency below and distinct from the resonance frequency of the linear compressor. A method operates the refrigeration appliance which has the linear compressor configured as a drive for a refrigeration circuit. In the method the linear compressor is operated either at a first operating frequency at its resonance frequency or is operated at a second operating frequency below and distinct from the resonance frequency of the linear compressor. The refrigeration appliance is advantageously a household refrigeration appliance.
