Abstract
Improvements to U.S. Pat. No. 12,146,657. A system for breaking up ash and clinkers that can accumulate during the operation of a Grateless, Back Fed and Back Drafted Pellet Stove. The system utilizes a movable fuel support plate that disturbs any ash and clinkers that may be formed while burning fuel pellets. The support plate moves in a reciprocating motion. Breaking up the ash and clinkers allows the stove to maintain a more consistent rate of burning the fuel pellets by reducing the size of the ash and clinkers which allows them to pass into the reaction chamber. This minimizes the potential for a burn back into the fuel hopper.
Claims2
An improved grateless, back drafted and back fed pellet stove, comprising:
- a bottom zone designed for burning fuel pellets;
- a middle zone crafted to receive ash, and
- a top zone comprising unburned fuel pellets, wherein both zones of fuel pellets can move in different directions simultaneously to cause the ash removal.
A process for removing the ash accumulated within a mound of fuel pellets containing both unburned fuel pellets and burning fuel pellets in an improved grateless back drafted and back fed pellet stove, said amount of pellets, comprising steps of:
- a. burning fuel pellets in a bottom zone;
- b. receiving ash in a middle zone crafted, and
- c. storing unburned fuel pellets at the top zone;
- d. removing ash caused by a zone of moving fuel pellets relative to a zone of stationary fuel pellets, while said mount of fuel pellets is subject to a draft, wherein unburnt as well as the burning pellets to remain largely unaffected by the reciprocating action.
