Abstract
An optical system includes one or more light sources configured to produce emitted light, a lens, a cradle supporting the lens, and at least one wide-angle emission collecting optic positioned, at least in part, within the cradle. The wide-angle emission collecting optic has a substantially concave shape. A portion of the emitted light from the one or more light sources is reflected off of the wide-angle emission collecting optic to produce reflected light, and the reflected light passes through and out of the lens.

An optical system, comprising:
- one or more light sources configured to produce emitted light;
- a lens;
- a cradle supporting the lens;
- and
- a wide-angle emission collecting optic positioned, at least in part, within the cradle, the wide-angle emission collecting optic comprising a substantially concave shape;
- wherein a first portion of the emitted light is reflected off of the wide-angle emission collecting optic to produce reflected light, and wherein the reflected light passes through the lens.

- two or more optical systems, each optical system comprising:
- one or more light sources configured to produce emitted light;
- a lens;
- and
- a wide-angle emission collecting optic positioned within the optical system;
- wherein a first portion of the emitted light is reflected off of the wide-angle emission collecting optic to produce reflected light, and wherein the reflected light passes through the lens;
- and
- a plate or printed circuit board;
- one or more snapping arms, wherein the one or more snapping arms secure the plate to the two or more optical systems;
- wherein the two or more optical systems are arranged in one or more columns and one or more rows on the plate.
