Abstract

A projection device configured to be mounted on a vehicle, and configured to project a light pattern onto a surrounding road surface. The projection device includes: a long-distance side projection unit configured to project a predetermined long-distance side light pattern to a relatively long-distance position; and a short-distance side projection unit configured to project a predetermined short-distance side light pattern to a relatively short-distance position. The long-distance side projection unit and the short-distance side projection unit are disposed in a housing of the projection device. Each of the long-distance side projection unit and the short-distance side projection unit include a projection lens for projecting a light pattern. At least the projection lens of the long-distance side projection unit is disposed at a position retracted from the projection lens of the short-distance side projection unit in a projection direction.
